Overview

LHH is seeking a Traveling Construction Superintendent with hands-on experience in fast-paced retail construction projects, including ground-up builds and moderate civil site work. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in the field and can manage every phase of construction, from mobilization to close-out, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.

Responsibilities


  • Manage daily on-site operations for ground-up and interior fit-out retail construction projects.
  • Supervise civil work (grading, utilities, paving), foundations, shell, and interior build-out.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries to meet fast-paced schedules.
  • Ensure jobsite safety and compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Track progress against schedules and resolve delays proactively.
  • Maintain daily logs, RFIs, photos, and reports using Procore or similar software.
  • Oversee site mobilization, inspections, punch lists, and project turnover.
  • Travel 80100% of the time; must be willing to remain on-site for the full duration of each project.


Qualifications
  • 5+ years of superintendent experience in retail construction, including ground-up builds and interior fit-outs.
  • Strong knowledge of civil scopes: earthwork, underground utilities, grading, concrete, and site layout.
  • Ability to manage fast-track schedules and multiple subcontractors.
  • Proficient in reading construction drawings, site plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Procore, PlanGrid, or similar project management tools.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel nationwide.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with national retail brands (e.g., Dollar General, Starbucks, AutoZone).
  • Familiarity with permitting and inspection processes across multiple jurisdictions.
  • OSHA 30 certification and First Aid/CPR certified.
  • Experience managing rural builds with self-contained utilities (e.g., septic, well systems).
  • Competitive salary: $85,000$100,000 based on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus program: Up to 10% of salary, paid annually.
  • Full travel package: per diem, lodging (hotels or Airbnbs), and travel reimbursement beyond 30 miles (IRS rate).
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance after 90-day probation and insurance approval.
  • PTO: 2 weeks, plus sick days and paid holidays.
  • 401(k) match.
